TEXT Hello, my friends. I am Dance With Wolves, and my country is the Republic of the Philippines, where I was born and bred in the city. Prior to the 1986 Edsa Revolution, American Bases ruled my country. The CIA favored deposed Dictator Marcos, perhaps because he had already proclaimed martial law (1972), hence, in order to be in his graces, America wanted their military bases to be extended up to l999. But deposed Dictator Marcos shortend thier stay, and the Americans did not like it so much. But, as the political situation was, America had no choice but to be friends with him, and his military-style of government. From l972 to l986, there was so much hullabaloo, that one is more inclined to think that the CIA was, indeed, not only literally inane AND STUPID, but also, LEGALLY BLIND. Whatever COVERT AND OVERT actions the CIA is capable of doing, IT certainly was not successful here in my country, because deposed Dictator Marcos pilferred billions of money right under the CIA's noses, from 1972 up to 1986!!! So, I guess that after the 1986 Edsa Revolution, Filipino lawmakers were tired of kowtowing to the Americans; the result was, the Philippine Senate abrogated the Treaty and, hence, the expulsion of the US BASES here in the Philippines. What the 1986 Edsa Revolution could not do, proper LEGISLATION DID. The Philippine Senate was divided between the yes and the no; 11 Senators voted yes, but the NO WON BY ONE VOTE!! 12 Senators voted no!!! GOOD-BYE to the American Bases!!! Aren't we LUCKY HERE? Thanks to our Philippine Nationalist Legislators.....we do not have to be afraid of having nuclear weapons on our shores!!!

HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVISTS ARE CORRECT when they say that so many, many people are being trampled upon like animals, including prsoners of war from all around the globe! You know, the most basic tenet in a democracy is to hold a prisoner merely as a suspect, and that a person is to be held innocent until proven guilty. As it is, for example, in Guantanamo, prisoners there are being treated a sub-humans. What about all those legal cases heaped upon them/Do they have legitimate lawyers to represent them? Remember, these poor prisoners at Guantanamo have been detained for three years now; are there legal cases already filed against them/where are their lawyers/HERE, IN MY COUNTRY, THE PHILIPPINES, THERE ARE SO MANY HEINIOUS CRIMES being committed, like rape and incest, including those of children and minors, but these apprehended suspects are given thier due- almost all of them even have a free access to lawyers (when they are too poor and have no money to pay for appropriate legal services). I was shocked when I READ ABOUT the kind of abnormal treatment given to these PRISONERS at Guantanamo, where one of them was reportedly SODOMIZED, the rest, mercilessly tortured. Sexual acts of savagery ought to be STOPPED BY APPREHENDING THE CRIMINALS WHO PERPETUATED THE CRIMES, ACCORDING TO THE GENEVA RULES OF CONVENTION. Otherwise, everybody will be exterminating each other like savages, as in pre-historic times. And what about the ABU GRAIB SEX SCANDAL? Aren't these WHITE COUNTRIES SUPPOSEDLY, CHRISTIAN?I pray for all poor prisoners everywhere, esp. in Guantanamo, in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Asian countries where there are despotic regimes (Cambodia, CHINA, North Korea).

Hello, again, everybody...just wanted you to know that our Philippine views are strictly only for my country, the Philippines. The Philippine situation is very, very different from everybody else's in the Middle East, especially in Iraq and even in Afghanistan. I made explicit our views, more in a reportorial manner, rather than to intimidate, or to (try to) influence people in the Middle East countries, like I mentioned, Iraq and Afghanistan. What may hold true here in the Philippines, may certainly not prove to be beneficial, or applicable to your particular political situations in the Middle EAST. Thank-you.

To say the Phillipines are "occuppied muslim lands " is nothing more than an excuse to murder . Muslims are not nor NEVER were persecuted in the Phillippines , Muslims did not "found " the Phillippines . The hatred for christians is what is driving the slaughter and murder of innocent Phillippinos . More of the evil "holy warriors " who call themselves Mujahadeen .
If there is a God they will burn in hell for their barbaric acts . Anyone who supports them is guilty of the same evil - MURDER .
Muslims who approve of these cowards and scoundrels are simply deluding themselves and are afraid to admit the truth concerning their own black hearts . You only fool yourselves and will not prevail ...EVER .
