Do you think these are the opening skirmishes in The Thirld World war? Islam vs The Rest of the World?
I wouldn't be surprised - radicalised Muslims fomenting dissent and agitating for a global jihad.

hey spock, why dont you just get out of this forum! because it seems to me all you are doing is bringing up pessimistic views that no one one wants to hear. This is an islamic forum for people to discuss issues which are peaceful or worthy debates. if you want to ask something you truelly want to know ask otherwise if yor gonna cause arguments get out!!!!!!!!!!

It's a serious question - are we facing a world war base around religious issues. Sorry if that's not what you want to hear. Or maybe you don't want reasoned discussion on your website? You know, you might just be able to persuade me of the rightness of your cause here!
If you want to restrict access to this website then persuade the webmasters to make it subscription only. Until then it's a public forum. Unless, of course, islam is a religion of intolerance and censorship?

look, spock i am sorry if i was being rude it's just that there are so many insults being portrayed on this website. i try to visit this forum hoping to see some peaceful posts but half the stuff is irony and hatred towards islam. it is a very sensitive issue for everyone i know. u r more than welcome in this forum but why don't you try not to be so cynical. maybe you should try to block out all the terrorism u r seeing and try to research some of the beauties in islam it won't hurt u to try. as for your post on ww3, who knows if it will happen i guess it's all fate. but u should be grateful for what u have now and make sure u don't take your life for granted, your only here once and u neva know wen your time is up. so please just unshield your heart little.

I have been on this earth for a fair number of years and it's my experiences that have made me cynical. I cannot bring myself to beleive in god any more than you can bring yourself to deny his existence. Such is life.
What saddens me is to hear the same old, paranoid cliches from otherwise intelligent people; the global american/zionist/hindu/martian plot to crush islam, etc etc. People can love and care for each other without needing a religion to follow.
As for the beauties of islam: where you thinking of any in particular? because, with my cynical, pessimistic view of the world, I see the growth in islam, and in particular the more extreme, fundamental forms of islam, as real threat to world peace. If it was a christian movement I would be saying the same thing, btw. It's just that I don't see islam as a peaceful, pacifying kind of movement, more a 'join-us-or-we'll-kill-you' sort of thing. Very much how the christian missionaries behaved, and the crusaders, and the Spanish inquisition. History repeating itself?

yeah i get what you mean about all the bad views on Islam, but that's what the media(on the defence of America) wants to show you obviously so you can support them. But what i can suggest you do is move away from looking at this politically and look into it as an individual. For instance an important part of Islam is to have patience and respect. all the things you see as a restriction in Islam is only a means of wellbeing for yourself. EG: alchohol:is harmful to your body, swearing: makes you look dis-respectful, casual sex: diseases+abortionETC. these are a few of the things that muslims should follow in their best interest. i don't know what you think about women covering up, but i don't know why people think it is bad. i cover and i wear a loose dress so my body shape isn't shown and i do this because i prefer no one stares at my body and thinks of me in a sexual way. isn't that better than wearing tight pants/ short skirts, cleavage showing. another major beauty in Islam is to always b thankful of the beautiful nature around you and the food u r recieving from it, the water you drink, this was all created for us. Anyways i could go on and on but i would prefer u did a little research on the net or even if u visit an islamic bookshop im sure u will find heaps of stuff on the beauty of islam. and remember ISLAM is not a group name or cult, it simply is a word that describes someone who believes in the one true GOD(ALLAH s.w.t) and his messanger(saas). but thankyou for taking your time to hear me out i really appreciate it. hopefully i'll get some good feedback from you ;D

Mariam,
None of what you say presupposes the existence of god or any of his supposed prophets. I am enjoying fine weather, I eat great food, and I have a loving family. I enjoy life, drink clean water, live in a nice house in a safe village. I am healthy, and I have a good job. I also don't believe in god.
Rules and laws can be made by man without needing any religious background; if a woman wishes to cover herself she can. But she should not be forced either way. If a man wishes not a grow a beard he should not be beaten. A woman who is raped by a man should not be stoned to death for it.
Children can (in my view, should) be brought up to respect other people, and know what is right from what is wrong. Where does religion fit into this? How does praying 5 times a day make you a better person?
A question for you: what does Islam think of atheists, or followers of different prophets?

well to answer your question about athiests, in the Quran it states that the followers of the Quran should not worry about what other people do. everything you do is for yourself and for Allah and we all get judged on this on our own, it is expected of you to treat your neighbours kindly as long as they are kindly to you no matter what religion or athiest in your case. i myself treat everyone equally i cannot judge anybody. BUt it is also a necessity to help guide people the right way if they are in need of it. Praying 5 times a day is a means of taking the time to thank your one and only Creator(ALLAH), it's a means of respect. Now, when u say that "rules can be made by man" what gives those people the authority to tell u what to do when they had no reason as to yor existance you would prefer to listen to "man" rather than your creator? He who put u on this Earth and He who gave u your beautiful family? u have to look at the bigger picture and don't let "man" dominate your life coz they wont be there when you pass away...........

I come from a country with a democracy - we elect our government and they make the laws in our name. Not some unelected believer in a divine being, interpreting some obscure relgious text to decide whether or not a woman should be stoned to death for geting raped.
Your version of Islam seems pretty moderate, but there are plenty of Muslims out there who would deride your view that non-Muslims are to be tolerated - look at regimes like the Taliban if you want to see what an extreme muslim society looked like.
When I die? When it's time to go, that's it I'm afraid, there's nothing afterwards. I intend living my life as best I can without feeling that I have to stand up up to some sort of after-death audit to see how many times I missed prayers.
Is it your belief then, that mankind, and only mankind, has the benefit of an afterlife? No other species??

Well your question about other species, all of Allah's(swt) creations (other than humans) have an afterlife. Allah(swt) has ordained a means for everything He has created. Of course Allah(swt) knows best.
Ok, so we have laws by man that we have to abide by, fair enough, but for me i put the laws of my creator first. And yes i know there are all sorts of extremities in Islam and you think mine is moderate, well what i believe is truelly in my heart and if someone is asking me views on Islam i will tell them the best of my beliefs. I don't need to prove anything to anyone except Allah(swt), all round im a good person and kind to everyone.

Nice to know you're a good person Mariam, I like to think of myself as considerate to others, the big difference between us is that I don't accept the existence of any god.
About these animals: according to your beliefs they have an afterlife. Does this then presuppose that they have a soul of some description, some kind of immortal essence that can live on after their death?
And thank you for your link, I will take the time to visit, but i much prefer to argue my case with people like yourself than read stuff off a screen.

Allah(swt) has created everything for it's own specific reason, yes animals have souls and yes there is some sort of afterlife for them. But, of course Allah(swt) knows best. Maybe you should try reading the Quran to a have your own view on it, everything you want to know is in there.
